Walton County 4-H Defeats Wayne County 4-H
In an undisputed contest, scoring 1890 points, Walton County 4-H defeated Wayne County 4-H. Walton County 4-H finishes the season in second place in their Division with a 6 - 1 record. Walton County 4-H was led by Lucy Peters who shot a 392. The remaining contributing members were Mason Harper, Jordan Smothers, Camden Miley, and Breann Jones. Walton County 4-H is from Monroe, GA, and is coached by William Carlan.
Walton County 4-H, by virtue of finishing second in the Champions Division, earned one of the two automatic bids to the post season tournament. Based on seasonal average Walton County 4-H will be seeded first in the four team tournament. Their quarter final game this week is against fellow Georgian and defending league champion Carroll County 4-H.
Wayne County 4-H dropped to 0 - 7 on the season. They finish the season in eighth place in their Division. Wayne County 4-H is from Jesup, GA, and is coached by Holly Harper-Kicklighter.
These two teams are competing in the Champions Division of the Orion National BB Gun League. Sponsored by the Orion Scoring System, the league is a national team league for BB Gun teams. The Champions Division is comprised of the top teams in the league. The league has two parts. An 8 week round-robin regular season going on now. Followed by a single-elimination tournament, for the top four teams who will compete for the league championship.
BB Gun programs teach gun safety and competitive marksmanship skills to athletes 8 to 15 years of age. Each game in the league teams compete in what is known as a four-position match. Each athlete will shoots 10 shots in four different shooting positions, prone, standing, sitting and kneeling at a distance of 5m. Each shot is worth a maximum of 10 points. The sum of points scored in the 40 shots is the athlete's total. The team score is comprised of the best five athletes from each team.
