Montgomery County 4-H defeats Gwinnett County 4-H
Shooting their highest score of the season Montgomery County 4-H defeated Gwinnett County 4-H 1822 to 1793 last week in the National BB Gun League. With the win, Montgomery County 4-H is in second place in their Division with a 2 - 1 record. Montgomery County 4-H was led by Patrick Reilly who shot a 375. The remaining contributing members were Catherine Aldrich, Teddy Clark, Gavin Aranda, and Jared Haines. Montgomery County 4-H is from Conroe, TX, and is coached by Michael Reilly.
Gwinnett County 4-H dropped to 1 - 1 on the season. They are currently in fifth place in their Division. Gwinnett County 4-H was led by Bailey Wagner who shot a 367. The remaining contributing members were Matthew Herrington, Chase Trammell, Jayce Wiggs, and Alec Borneman. Gwinnett County 4-H is from Sugar Hill, GA, and is coached by Robert Herrington.
Next up Montgomery County 4-H will compete against Hall County 4-H from Gainsville, GA. Hall County 4-H currently has a 0 - 2 record. Gwinnett County 4-H will compete against Bend of the River from Cookeville, TN. Bend of the River currently has a 1 - 2 record.
These two teams are competing in the Distinguished Division of the Orion National BB Gun League. Sponsored by the Orion Scoring System, the league is a national team league for BB Gun teams. The league has two parts. An 8 week round-robin regular season going on now. Followed by a single-elimination tournament, for the top four teams who will compete for the league championship.
BB Gun programs teach gun safety and competitive marksmanship skills to athletes 8 to 15 years of age. Each game in the league teams compete in what is known as a four-position match. Each athlete will shoots 10 shots in four different shooting positions, prone, standing, sitting and kneeling at a distance of 5m. Each shot is worth a maximum of 10 points. The sum of points scored in the 40 shots is the athlete's total. The team score is comprised of the best five athletes from each team.
