Forsyth County 4-H defeats Lake County Aces
Shooting their highest score of the season Forsyth County 4-H defeated Lake County Aces 1961.2 to 1928.7 last week in the National BB Gun League. Their second win in a row, Forsyth County 4-H is in third place in their Division with a 2 - 1 record. Forsyth County 4-H was led by Vivian Munce who shot a 406.0. The remaining contributing members were Sari Waters, Abigail Harris, Kaitlyn Bauer, and Ethan Rickett. Forsyth County 4-H is from Cumming, GA, and is coached by Forsyth County 4-H.
Snapping a two game win streak Lake County Aces dropped to 2 - 2 on the season. They are currently in fourth place in their Division. Shooting their highest team score of the season Lake County Aces was led by Abi Wiener who shot a 388.0. The remaining contributing members were Thomas Mallett, Colby Briggs, Sean Sudenga, and Amanda Bensen. Lake County Aces is from Madison, SD, and is coached by Jennifer & Wade Briggs.
Next up Forsyth County 4-H will compete against Carroll County 4-H from Bowden, GA. Carroll County 4-H currently has a 0 - 3 record. Lake County Aces will compete against Walton County 4-H from Monroe, GA. Walton County 4-H currently has a 4 - 0 record.
These two teams are competing in the Champions Division of the Orion National BB Gun League. Sponsored by the Orion Scoring System, the league is a national team league for BB Gun teams. The Champions Division is comprised of the top teams in the league. The league has two parts. An 8 week round-robin regular season going on now. Followed by a single-elimination tournament, for the top four teams who will compete for the league championship.
BB Gun programs teach gun safety and competitive marksmanship skills to athletes 8 to 15 years of age. Each game in the league teams compete in what is known as a four-position match. Each athlete will shoots 10 shots in four different shooting positions, prone, standing, sitting and kneeling at a distance of 5m. Each shot is scored with tenth of a ring accuracy and worth a maximum of 10.9 points. The sum of points scored in the 40 shots is the athlete's total. The team score is comprised of the best five athletes from each team.
