NoVA Sharpshooters defeats Cowley 4-H Shooting Sports
NoVA Sharpshooters defeated Cowley 4-H Shooting Sports 2115 to 1737 in the National Air Pistol League. Their second win in a row. NoVA Sharpshooters finishes the season in fifth place overall. They finished the season with a 4 - 2 record. NoVA Sharpshooters was led by, Bhavjeet Sanghera who shot a 552. The remaining contributing members were Suman Sanghera, Connor Shea, and Victor Mou. NoVA Sharpshooters is from Woodbridge, US, and is coached by Lei-Ann Chang.
Cowley 4-H Shooting Sports finished the season with a 1 - 4 record. They finishes the season in tenth place overall. Cowley 4-H Shooting Sports was led by, Titus Mill who shot a 454. The remaining contributing members were Jake Jewers, Stetson Shook, and Dakota Holland. Cowley 4-H Shooting Sports is from Winfield, KS, and is coached by Austin Waite.
Due to the large number of school and club closings in light of the coronavirus outbreak, the remainder of the league has been cancelled and awards will be issued based on the seven weeks of competition completed so far. League teams who are still meeting have the option to participate in several weekly invitational games in lieu of the regular season.
These two teams are competing in the National Air Pistol League. Sponsored by the Orion Scoring System, the league is a national team league for clubs throughout the United States. Over 10 weeks each team competes in 8 games. Each week, each team is paired with another team with a near equal win-loss record.
In each game the teams compete in a 60 shot air pistol match. This competition is identical to the Air Pistol events in the Olympic games. Each athlete will shoots 60 shots, with each shot worth a maximum of 10 points. The sum of points scored in the 60 shots is the athlete's total. The team score is comprised of the best four athletes from each team.
