Middletown Marksmen defeats Gwinnett County 4-H
Middletown Marksmen defeated Gwinnett County 4-H 1861 to 1805 last week in the National BB Gun League. Middletown Marksmen finishes the season in first place in their Division with a 6 - 1 record. Middletown Marksmen was led by Cadence Logan who shot a 380. The remaining contributing members were McKenna Logan, Nick Suhr, Dale Suhr, and Ethan Kercher. Middletown Marksmen is from Middletown, PA, and is coached by Kourtney Morton and Dave Fisher.
Thanks to their first place finish in the Distinguished Division Middletown Marksmen is guaranteed to move up to the prestigious Champions Division in the 2018 season.
Snapping a two game win streak Gwinnett County 4-H dropped to 3 - 4 on the season. They finish the season in sixth place in their Division. Shooting their highest team score of the season Gwinnett County 4-H was led by Chase Trammell who shot a 364. The remaining contributing members were Chylie Dzihic, Matthew Herrington, Katie Kozsey, and Jayce Wiggs. Gwinnett County 4-H is from Sugar Hill, GA, and is coached by Robert Herrington.
These two teams are competing in the Distinguished Division of the Orion National BB Gun League. Sponsored by the Orion Scoring System, the league is a national team league for BB Gun teams. The league has two parts. An 8 week round-robin regular season going on now. Followed by a single-elimination tournament, for the top four teams who will compete for the league championship.
BB Gun programs teach gun safety and competitive marksmanship skills to athletes 8 to 15 years of age. Each game in the league teams compete in what is known as a four-position match. Each athlete will shoots 10 shots in four different shooting positions, prone, standing, sitting and kneeling at a distance of 5m. Each shot is worth a maximum of 10 points. The sum of points scored in the 40 shots is the athlete's total. The team score is comprised of the best five athletes from each team.
