Jackson County 4-H Defeats Bend of the River
In an undisputed contest, scoring 1750 points, Jackson County 4-H defeated Bend of the River. Jackson County 4-H finishes the season in third place in their Division with a 4 - 3 record. Jackson County 4-H was led by Carter Isaacs who shot a 375. The remaining contributing members were Hayden Mays, Garrett Isaacs, Joseph Ledford, and Keith Dills. Jackson County 4-H is from Jefferson, GA, and is coached by Bryan Mays.
Bend of the River dropped to 2 - 5 on the season. They finish the season in seventh place in their Division. Bend of the River is from Cookeville, TN, and is coached by Charles Pardue.
These two teams are competing in the Distinguished Division of the Orion National BB Gun League. Sponsored by the Orion Scoring System, the league is a national team league for BB Gun teams. The league has two parts. An 8 week round-robin regular season going on now. Followed by a single-elimination tournament, for the top four teams who will compete for the league championship.
BB Gun programs teach gun safety and competitive marksmanship skills to athletes 8 to 15 years of age. Each game in the league teams compete in what is known as a four-position match. Each athlete will shoots 10 shots in four different shooting positions, prone, standing, sitting and kneeling at a distance of 5m. Each shot is worth a maximum of 10 points. The sum of points scored in the 40 shots is the athlete's total. The team score is comprised of the best five athletes from each team.
