Seneca Valley AJROTC Narrowly Defeats Clarkrange AJROTC
Seneca Valley AJROTC edged out Clarkrange AJROTC 1094.4 to 1091.4 in the 2023 National Sporter Air Rifle League. Their second win in a row. Seneca Valley AJROTC was led by Wesley Marks who shot a 288.5. The remaining contributing members were Logan Randall, Maria Wilson, and Riley Hubbard. They are from Harmony, PA, and are coached by 1SG Angelo Lettiere.
Seneca Valley AJROTC competed in the Distinguished Division where they finish the regular season in third place. Within the Army JROTC Conference they finish in first place. They finished the regular season with a 5 - 2 record.
Next up, Seneca Valley AJROTC will compete in the Distinguished Conference Tournament as the AJROTC first seed. They will compete against second seed Clarkrange AJROTC.
Thanks to their performance this season Seneca Valley AJROTC preliminarily qualifies for the Champions Division in the 2024 National Air Rifle League Season. To complete their qualification, they must still shoot a minimum qualifying score, set for next season at 1035 (integer score for a 3x10), in a sanctioned competition within the next 10 months.
Clarkrange AJROTC was led by Sydney Beringer who shot a 284.7. The remaining contributing members were Emma Laudenslager, Amanda Woodraska, and Cameran Quick. Clarkrange AJROTC is from Clarkrange, TN, and is coached by Steve Dunham.
Clarkrange AJROTC also competed in the Distinguished Division where they finish the regular season in fourth place. Within the Army JROTC Conference they finish in second place. They finished the regular season with a 3 - 4 record.

The league is a national team league for high school teams and junior rifle clubs. The league has two parts. An 8 week regular season going on now, followed by the post-season.
The Champions Division is reserved for the top teams in the country. The top eight teams from the Champions Division regular season will compete in a single elimination tournament for the league championships.
In each game the teams compete in what is known as a Three-Position Air Rifle match. The match is modeled after Olympic Rifle competitions but adapted to high school age athletes. Each athlete will shoot 10 shots in three different shooting positions, kneeling, prone, and standing. Scored in decimal, each shot is worth a maximum of 10.9 points. The sum of points scored in the 30 shots is the athlete's total. The team score is comprised of the best four athletes from each team.
